Kids Church Decor Idea: Giant Collages

Kids love to see themselves and make silly faces on camera. To make easy collages, take a bunch of closeup pictures of your kids at church pre/post service and print them out 8.5 x 11 size on a color printer. Affix them to a foam board, poster board or other board and display them on a wall! The more pictures, collages you display, the cooler your space will look.

Add lighting, wiring, a slinky, or other colorful objects around the collages for an even greater fun factor!

Kids love fun! Creating a fun environment for them will not only enhance their experience but will affirm to them that they are valuable.

Materials used for this project: Camera, computer, glue, paper, color copier, tape, poster board, extension cord lights (IKEA $3), foam board (Home Depot $10), scrap booking paper (Michael's or Hobby Lobby $10 for a book of 50 sheets), screws to hang on wall.

Where were you born and raised? I was born in Irving, Texas and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

What was your favorite childhood activity? I loved playing sports and video games…still do!

What was your childhood church experience? I grew up in church. My family was at church every time the doors were open. I have been so blessed to have been raised by parents who loved Jesus and the church. My mentors were men and women who taught me about God's love and how to live by HIS principles.

Why did you decide to work at Celebration Church? I was working as an administrator/principal for a public high school in Louisiana when I was asked to join the staff of Celebration Church. My wife and I recognized that this was an opportunity that God was giving to us. It has always been our desire to serve God's people in any and every way that we can.

How do you pass along a love for Jesus to your children? I think the best way is for us to model a sincere love in our own lives. Deuteronomy 6 gives us the key for passing along our love for Jesus. It says, "you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up". It should be a part of our everyday life. We should talk about Jesus with our kids and it should be as natural as anything we could ever do.

What would you love to know that parents are doing with their Celebration Kid? I would love to know that parents are being intentional in training up their children to Know God, Love His Church and Change the World.

If you could have a room full of anything, what would it be? HD TV's during football season…or really good books.

If you could own a non-traditional pet, what would it be? A tiger…did I mention that I'm an LSU alum?

Where were you born and raised? Vancouver, B.C. Canada

What was your favorite childhood activity? Playing in the woods outside our house with my sister, family vacations, listening to my Mom recount stories.

What was your childhood church experience? We never really went to church when I was younger. We had TV church. It wasn't really until high school that my family sought out a church "home". My Dad and mom really connected with the pastor and his wife, and the rest as they say, is history!

Why did you decide to work at Celebration Church? I will never forget how we were touched when we first came, and just how much my children loved the church. I became a volunteer in the KIDS venue because I wanted to be able to share that same experience our family had with others. My children have grown out of the nursery and preschool department, but they can still tell you the names of all their teachers and how they made them feel special and valued every week! I love this place!

How do you pass along a love for Jesus to your children? My mother especially was always SO excited about the Bible, and the things of God. She was enthused and made the Bible stories come to life. I look for opportunities to emulate that same passion and enthusiasm with my own children.

What would you love to know that parents are doing with their Celebration Kid? I'd love to know that parents are investing in their child’s relationship with God outside of the church walls. That they are spending time with their kids, reading Bible stories or even sharing with their kids what they have recently learned about God. I’d love to know that parents are instilling in their children how valuable they are to God and just how much He cares for them!

If you could have a room full of anything, what would it be? Family, friends and a lot of good laughs!

If you could own a non-traditional pet, what would it be? Oh, my! I'm not too sure. We always called our son the "family pet!" Does that count? :)
